Happiness came in a size 7 1/2.
![]() I love walking. It is more than my exercise, it invigorates my spirit. Yesterday I got a new pair of shoes. I had one pair that was nearly 5 years old that I wore when it was muddy or raining. I had another pair that was over 2 years old. From time to time I would look at new shoes and try them on but the price tag always prevented me from making the purchase. I would rationalize that there were more miles left in the shoes I had. But $29.99 was a price too good to pass up. Okay it was a style that is out of style but it is my style and the price was perfect. The shoes normally sell from $89.99 to $109.00. These fit great. In fact, I didn't realize that my current shoes had lost their gel and arch until I had the news shoes on my feet. They feel great. Monday, March 24
Quotes that make me smile.
To keep the heart unwrinkled, to be hopeful, kindly, cheerful, reverent - that is to triumph over old age.

Happy 21st of March, the first full day of Spring.
![]() "If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall. I would go to more dances. I would ride more merry-go-rounds. I would pick more daisies." Nadine Stair I was sent this quote with the complimentary caveat: "Judy, I was e-mailed this quote today and when I read it I smiled and thought of you. For as long as I have known you, this is the way you have lived your life. Happy first day of Spring." Viewing daffadils in Tennessee, collecting hugs from my son Tom and family plus hearing from my son Jim and his wife Carol has made this a very nice "Night before Spring." Sunday, March 16

It's all in the way you look at things.
Once upon a time a colleague said I looked at the world through rose colored glasses. Our employer hastened to correct her and said I look at the world with Kaleidoscope Eyes. That has always been one of my favorite compliments and has served as a reminder that each of us views circumstances from a different perspective. Different things color what we see and what we remember.

I have always been a fan of optical illusions. Here are two I think you may enjoy. A landscape and a man with a beard. ![]() Stare at the dot in the center of the circle below. Now move your head closer. It is magic! ![]() Thursday, March 13
Families come in all shapes and sizes. Each is blessed when connected by love.
![]() ![]() Families definitely come in all shapes and sizes. The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck Tuesday, March 11
In loving memory.
![]() For many years he was a Tennessee State Trooper. He truly loved one woman throughout his life. His heart belonged to his wife and mother of his sons Ginny. They were married over 52 years. When she fell ill, George became a loving caretaker. It was a role we didn't think he would do well but he excelled. After Ginny died, George was given a blessed miracle when he became reacquainted with Bertha. They were able to share some precious time together before she died. In his last days he found companionship with a lovely woman named Betty. He was a strong, determined, manly man cut from the same cloth as one of his heroes John Wayne. ![]() Arrangements have not yet been made for his final resting place here on earth but I am sure that he is enjoying the welcome celebration they are having for him in heaven.
It's a terrific Tuesday. A day to celebrate. A Help Wanted Day.

In an instant...
I definitely counted my blessings at the end of the day last night. If the day had been portrayed on an etch a sketch ![]() Thankfully, nothing totally horrible happened. It was just a day of disappointments and almost catastrophe. The most unsettling part of the day was when a truck side swiped my car. Guardian angels must have been at work because it was amazing that I saw him. It was a blessing that when I ended up on the sidewalk there was no pedestrian there. It was a blessing that the lady driving behind me slowed down in time and didn't rearend me. It was a blessing that I was able to pull back off the sidewalk without hitting the lightpole. It was a blessing that I was able to get to the corner, turn and pull off safely into a parking lot. Thankfully a true catastrophe was averted. I was stunned that the truck responsible drove away without even stopping. With the exception of a few minor scratches and the possibility the alignment is out of whack, all is well. My shaking has even subsided (smile). The truck's logo was prominent so even though I wasn't able to get the license number the driver was tracked down and is held responsible. My car is being checked out today. All in all, yesterday was not my favorite day but it was certainly a very blessed day. In an instant life can change. Sometimes when it doesn't change it is the perfect opportunity to say a thank you prayer. Tuesday, March 4
Wishing you a day filled with possibilities.

There are reality shows and then there are real shows.
The trend over recent years has been "reality" television. Most of them do not reflect my reality in any way. Some shows are competitions where the participants are vieing for opportunities to show their talents and win prizes and opportunities that might catapult them in the direction of their career dreams.

Other shows are about helping. I especially enjoy these programs; "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and the new "Big Give." ![]() It is a postcard perfect Monday here in Florida and I am inspired to pay closer attention to the people I meet each day to see if I might offer them some assistance. It would be spectacular if everyone had a willing spirit and helping hands. Enjoy this Marvelous Monday. |
