In an instant...

I definitely counted my blessings at the end of the day last night.

If the day had been portrayed on an etch a sketch

I would have shaken it over and over again to make it disappear.

Thankfully, nothing totally horrible happened. It was just a day of disappointments and almost catastrophe.

The most unsettling part of the day was when a truck side swiped my car. Guardian angels must have been at work because it was amazing that I saw him. It was a blessing that when I ended up on the sidewalk there was no pedestrian there. It was a blessing that the lady driving behind me slowed down in time and didn't rearend me. It was a blessing that I was able to pull back off the sidewalk without hitting the lightpole. It was a blessing that I was able to get to the corner, turn and pull off safely into a parking lot. Thankfully a true catastrophe was averted.

I was stunned that the truck responsible drove away without even stopping.

With the exception of a few minor scratches and the possibility the alignment is out of whack, all is well. My shaking has even subsided (smile).

The truck's logo was prominent so even though I wasn't able to get the license number the driver was tracked down and is held responsible. My car is being checked out today.

All in all, yesterday was not my favorite day but it was certainly a very blessed day. In an instant life can change. Sometimes when it doesn't change it is the perfect opportunity to say a thank you prayer.
