Thinking about our Troops with thank you in my heart.
![]() This is a poem being sent from a Marine to his Dad. It makes you truly thankful for not only the Marines, but for ALL of our troops. THE MARINE ![]() Both young and old To fight for our freedom, To stand and be bold. In the midst of all evil, We stand our ground, And we protect our country From all terror around. Peace and not war, Is what some people say. But I'll give my life, So you can live the American way. I give you the right To talk of your peace. To stand in your groups, And protest in our streets. But still I fight on, I don't bitch, I don't whine. I'm just one of the people who is doing your time. I'm harder than nails, Stronger than any machine. I'm the immortal soldier, I'm a U.S. MARINE! So stand in my shoes, And leave from your home. Fight for the people who hate you, With the protests they've shown. Fight for the stranger, Fight for the young. So they all may have, The greatest freedom you've won. Fight for the sick, Fight for the poor Fight for the cripple, Who lives next door. But when your time comes, Do what I've done. For if you stand up for freedom, You'll stand when the fight's done. By: Corporal Aaron M. Gilbert, US Marine Corps USS SAIPAN, PERSIAN GULF As we go through our everyday lives, grocery shopping and taking care of "have tos" and enjoying our family and friends it is easy to forget that there are people fighting in war. It isn't a movie. It is a fact of life. The very least we can do is say thank you to members of our armed forces when we see them and to pray they have wisdom in the face of unfathomable conditions and for their safety and speedy return back to us and their families. To all our service men and woman, Thank you most sincerely for your sacrifice and for the daily sacrifices of your families waiting for your return. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Saturday, June 23
Acts of Random Kindness - ARK
![]() Acts of random kindness are the best ways to "Change the world." This afternoon I saw Evan Almighty. It was an awesome movie. Good entertainment and excellent special effects. I give it a ten on the Judy movie scale. I hope Live or Die Harder will be equally terrific despite being a totally different type of movie. Friday, June 22

Happy First Day Of Summer
![]() This is a treat left for special weekends. Tomorrow it will be my way of celebrating the change of seasons. You can see from the photo that this is an awesome place to greet the day. Plus they make the most succulent blueberry pancakes, yum.
Dare to take a chance
![]() Author Unknown I like this because I think some people stand in their own way. We are capable of great things if only we could change the "self doubt" station that plays in our thoughts and runs through our minds. Get out of your own way! You are terrific! God doesn't make junk. Tuesday, June 19
Happy Birthday David!
![]() It has been many years since I first spoke to David Logan on the phone. He was living in Jacksonville, Florida at the time and I was calling to make sure that David Johnson had arrived safely for his visit. It has been many years since I first met David Logan in person, when Terry Tipton brought him into Miniature World. (Miniature World was the name of the shop my mom ran in a section of my dad's business. It was where you could purchase enchanting dollhouses and all the accessories to decorate. It was magical but then again, so was the talent my Mom had for creating magnificent fairytale-come-true dollhouses.) Over the years David earned the title of "Dave-Dad" to my sons Tom and Jim. As for our relationship, it has run the gambit and defies definition or title. I wish David a healthy, happy, fun-filled birthday. Thank you David for sanctioning "Judy Logic" and for your perpetual support and tolerance of a woman who lives life as an unpredictable adventure that unfolds each day. I am glad you were born. ![]() Happy Birthday! Friday, June 15
How do you say thank you?
I just read an e-mail from a dear friend, Janet Henderson. We were colleagues at TradeWinds Island Resorts. Actually, scratch that she is more than my friend. Janet has been more like a Guardian Angel in the many ways she has touched my life.

In business she was always there to offer guidance and to give me suppot. When I was traveling and on the road extensively, she stayed in touch and always welcomed me back. She made me feel like I was missed and also that my work was worthwhile. When my dear friend and partner, David Hallal was terminally ill, Janet left me motivational quotes on my voicemail to keep me believing and hopeful. When he died, she and the other special members of the TradeWinds Reservation Team gave me comfort. Currently,I am both excited and terrified as my book is complete and going through the editing process. Tonight I received an e-mail from Janet. Her words were music to my ears. In life everyone needs to have people believe in them. Thank you Janet for providing me the jolt of "atta girl" I needed to keep my hopes soaring that sooner than later my dreams will become a reality. I am now certain that my life is blessed by a petite blond loving guardian angel named Janet. When I take time to look over my shoulder, I am grateful for the many guardian angels whose lives have touched and enhanced mine. Lucky, grateful, blessed me.
Happy Father's Day!
Almost anyone can be a father BUT it takes a special commitment and unconditional caring to be a dad. I think my sons have achieved "Dad" status. They enjoy and love their children as I love and enjoy them. I think I am especially blessed because I not only love Tom and Jim, I like them. I have fun when I am with them. I am very proud of them and admire the men they have become. I leave it to their lovely wives and precocious children to be the real judge on this Father's Day! Happy Father's Day! Thursday, June 14

Good news for St. Petersburg's Rays
![]() The future is looking brighter for the St. Pete Rays since the MLB draft. We are in desperate need for help with pitching and currently have a tremendous void needing to be filled by a left hander. David Price should fill the bill. We are hoping he does fantastically in the minor leagues and comes to the "show" sooner than later. Below are excerpts from MLB.com and the best endorsement of all... Rays make Price top overall pick ST. PETERSBURG -- David Price became the top pick of Major League Baseball's 2007 First-Year Player Draft on Thursday when the Devil Rays exercised the first pick to select the junior left-hander from Vanderbilt University. "You can't really think about that," Price said. "You just have to have fun and play baseball, and that's what I did. I just continued to have fun. ... Go out there and have fun, and everything else will take care of itself." "I'll probably buy a pair of shoes," said Price when asked what he would purchase first. Price has a nice body of work, but most impressive could be the performance he put forth for as the ace of the USA Baseball National Team's gold medal-winning squad that competed at the FISU World University Championships in Cuba last summer. Price finished 5-1 with a 0.20 ERA in eight starts, with 61 strikeouts and only seven walks in 44 innings. Rays scouting director R.J. Harrison said that Price is everything the organization is looking for in a frontline Major League starter. "He's got a knockout pitch with his breaking ball," Harrison said. "When he's at his best, he's like any top pitcher; his fastball command is well above average." The best endorsement comes from my son Tom McKay and his wife Shelia: "Shelia and I have known David since he was 6 or 7 years old at church. He is a great young man who deserves all the great accolades that are coming his way. I encourage you to read about the 6’ 5 left hander from Murfreesboro who lead Vandy to a #1 ranking most of the year. " Tuesday, June 12
Europe will never be the same
My nephew Josh spent the last several weeks traveling through Europe. He made headlines in every city he visited. Here is a sampling... Giant invades Paris! The answer to the age old question which came first, the beer or the pretzel. ![]() Thursday, June 7
We aren't milk cartons.
It is very important to remember that people do not come with an expiration code.

Don't give your power away, the power you have to live each day with passion, enthusiasm and hope. Stories about people who survived against unbelievable odds or died unexpectedly are published everyday. They fill the pages of newspapers, magazines and books. Lance Armstrong stands as an example of someone who survived cancer despite his doctor's prognostinations. Tornadoes, fires, accidents and unforecastable disasters snuff out lives without warning each day. Some people live their lives like there will be no tomorrow. Others invest their time dreaming and planning for tomorrow. Everyone has to choose their own style. Much depends on personal circumstances, responsibilities, and the lives that are entwined with theirs. To the special people in my life, who are battling health challenges, please remember doctors are human beings. They aren't blessed with the unfailing ability to predict. They can only do their best based on their knowledge, previous cases and experiences. Don't give your power away, the power you have to live each day with passion, enthusiasm and hope. We aren't milk cartons. We aren't stamped with some predetermined date when we will expire. Start each day with a thank you prayer. Live each day with passion, enthusiasm and hope. Take time to help others. The world is filled with limitless possibilities. Wednesday, June 6

I love this quote. It illustrates my philosophy.
