This video is an awesome example of "making time to care."
I love it when people do the kindest things. They could easily have passed but instead took time out of their busy lives to do something that touches another person's life in a positive way.

Nicholas David, a finalist on the third season of NBC's "The Voice," surprised Eileen Lillis, a patient and huge fan of David, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Lake City, Minn. She is in Hospice end of life care. 0 comments

"God's Cake" This is the best explaination ever...

Sometimes we wonder "What did I do to deserve this?" or "Why did God have to do this to me?" Here is a wonderful explaination! A daughter is telling her Mom how everything is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away. Meanwhile her Mom is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake." "Here have some cooking oil, " her Mom offers. "Yuck!" says her daughter. "How about a couple of raw eggs?" "Gross, Mom." "Would you like some flour then? Or maybe some baking soda?" "Mom all those are yucky!" To which the Mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves but when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!" God works the same way. Many times we wonder why he would let us go through such bad and difficult times, but God knows that when he puts these things all in his order, they always work for good. We just have to trust Him and eventually, they will all make something wonderful out of our life adventure. God loves us. He sends flowers every Spring and a sunrise every morning. Whenever you want to talk he will listen. He can live anywhere in the universe and he chose your heart. Life may not always be the party we hoped for but while we are here we might as well smile and enjoy the ride. 0 comments Friday, September 6
Wishing you a fantastic Friday and wonderful weekend.
Hope this makes you smile. It always makes me happy when I hear it. I love Darius Rucker, the Duck Dynasty family, the trucks - especially the one Si is driving and the song mentions Johnson City, Tennessee. Happy, fun.

Today is a gift. My best advice is to treat it like that; afterall, it is called the "present"..
Please don't wait for a catastrophe to happen in your life to realize how precious it is.

It is wonderful to have goals and dreams. I have many. The trick is not to become so consumed with them that the you miss out on the opportunities and miracles that make up your today. It is possible to be both responsible and have joy in your days. Sometimes it just takes noticing, paying attention to the view as you drive to work. Look at people, smile, engage. Often we just pass each other by as though we are all in a trance. Take a moment and think about some of your happiest moments. Chances are, they are exactly that - moments not big accomplishments, not a whole vacation but rather moments. Now go out and have some fun today. You are worth it. God gave you this "present" unwrap and enjoy it. 0 comments
Graduate School is terrific BUT we must never forget what we learned in Kindergarten.
We were taught that we need to share, don't hit people, put things back where you found them, clean up your own mess, don't take things that aren't yours without asking, say you are sorry when you hurt someone, wash your hands before you eat, flush the toilet, take a nap every afternoon, watch for traffic when you cross the street, hold hands and stick together. Goldfish and hamsters even the little seed you planted in a cup die, so do we. We learned the Golden Rule. We pledged allegiace to our flag. We knew we live in one nation under God. Dick and Jane taught us the all important word LOOK.

Think of what a better world it would be if we all - the whole world - had cookies and milk about 3 o'clock every afternoon and then lay down for a nap. Or if we had a basic policy in our nations to always put things back where we found them and cleaned up our own messes. And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out into the world, it is better to hold hands and stick together. Thank you Robert Fulghum for your great book: "All I ever really needed to know I learned in kindergarten." 0 comments |
