Great Weekend
It was so much fun at Daytona Beach on Saturday. One day of bike week is a great way to spend a day. So many people. So many tattoos. So many bikes.

A roar filled the air. The assortment of people was amazing. It was a great opportunity for people watching and discovering what is new in that world. It was especially fun to see David test drive a Can-Am. It looks like an offspring of something from one of the Transformer movies. He even got to drive it out on the street after the test drive in the parking lot. Great way, scary way to test it out considering all the traffic! I loved seeing the ocean. My favorite side of Florida is definitely the Gulf but I enjoy seeing the waves and surfers on the Atlantic side. We only have waves when the wind is strong. Both Saturday and Sunday were postcard perfect weather days. Drove to Daytona with the top down and on Sunday I again enjoyed driving with the wind in my hair. I now have hair and it gets tangled - yeah! Sunday morning I was delighted when I received an Instant Message from Clif Genge. It stirred up wonderful memories when I lived in Wellsboro, Pa. Our families did lots of things together. It was a very happy time in my marriage. I loved that we would combine our food and have joint dinners. Tom and Jim got along great with the Genges' daughter and son. His wife Judy and I worked together to get reading programs in schools. My husband and Clif worked together at Corning. I remember sitting in a chair at Clif and Judy's home on New Year's Eve and saying my only wish would be that we would all be togeher the next year. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. In fact we left Wellsboro to head to Tennessee before the next week was over. Telling my sons that we were about to move again was the hardest thing I had to do. We had moved several times before but this was the hardest because we were so happy. Much of that happiness was due to the kindness of the Genges and the fun we shared. Hearing from Clif and catching up was terrific. They are loved and missed. It always feels great to be remembered. This week has started out wonderfully. I am looking forward to the possibilities it holds. |
