Great book - interesting concept.
![]() Peter Walsh was on Oprah yesterday. He was illustrating the coorelation between clutter and our weight. The more clutter in our homes, our thoughts, our lives the more likely we are to turn to food for instant gratification. If our homes have chaos instead of being a refuge from the world, we are more likely to find order in shopping and ordering food out instead of cooking. Mr. Walsh has a wonderful tone to his voice and a caring manner. He is never judgmental when he tries to help people perform a "clean sweep." Who would have guessed that a book with such a silly title, "Does this clutter make my butt look fat?" would be serious and helpful. If you are carrying a few too many pounds maybe you should look at your environment. Is your home the haven that makes you feel comfortable, safe and peaceful, or is there clutter? Is your mind cluttered with thoughts of all the things you need to do? Are you overwhelmed juggling home, family and work? If you said yes to any of these questions you may want to take a walk, go to the "Y," exercise, prepare a home cooked meal, or buy this book. In order to live our own best lives sometimes we have to make "good" choices not necessarily the "easy" ones. Time for me to tie my shoes and go for a walk. My mind has definitely been on an emotional roller coaster lately and if the choice is between sharing time with my friends, Ben & Jerry, or taking a walk I think the "good" choice is to walk. Enjoy your day! |
