Getting to know me:
I am blessed with an over active enthusiasm gland and an appreciation of the precious gift of life.

I am trying to break lose of being a hostage "to what I should do."

Do I have the courage to step across the threshold into the exciting world of possibilities?!?

The Malletts

That was my maiden name, Mallett. I kept my married name after my divorce because I loved that there would never be any confusion that I was my sons' mom. Okay, okay I understand that isn't necessary but it was my choice (smile).

My brother Bob is now the patriarch of the Mallett family. He has a beautiful wife, Dianne and a fantastic son, Josh as well as an awesome step-daughter, Amber.

It was heartbreaking when Josh's mom was taken from us at a young age as a result of breast cancer. It has been a true blessing to our whole family and especially for my brother that he found love again with Dianne. She has been a remarkable mom to Amber and Josh and wife to Bob.

Their life has certainly been filled with challenges, good times and bad and some times that were beyond terrific.

This past weekend it was my extreme pleasure to join Bob and his family, my sister Wendy and her family, my son (Tom) and his family, as well as Julie's family in Atlanta to celebrate Josh's graduation from Georgia Tech. I had fun, collected hugs and was so proud I thought I would burst. My brother Bob was so proud of Josh that I swear sometimes I think he was actually walking on air, his feet didn't seem to touch the ground.

Yesterday Dianne had some surgery and thankfully she is on the road to recovery. Josh leaves tonight for four weeks traveling throughout Europe. Amber had an important test on Monday that I am sure she passed with flying colors.

It was great to see everyone in my family and catch up with what is happening in their worlds.

My sister Wendy and her husband Lamont have a successful Yoga Studio in Johnson City, Tennessee. They are making a positive difference in the lives of their students and the community. In addition, they donate time as well as funds in support of the local animal shelter. Their efforts and contributions from their students have provided food and supplies for the shelter. Thanks to Wendy spotlighting the animals several have found loving homes. If you want to learn more about their business enter http://simpleabundanceyoga.com

Unfortunately my neice Jasmine was unable to attend as she had to work last weekend. She was missed and I hope to go to Knoxville sometime soon and visit or better yet maybe she will come to Florida to enjoy some fun in the sun.

Happily I did have the opportunity to share some time with my other neice, Caitlyn and her boyfriend Wes. They obviously were in their own world; as well they should be when you are young and care for each other. Each is in school and doing awesome! It won't be long before we will be attending their graduations. I enjoyed having the opportunity to catch -up with what is happening in their worlds.

My sister Bonnie and her daughters, Dawn and Valerie were unable to attend. I was thrilled that I was able to share a couple of days with Dawn when she visited me earlier last week. We got into some mischief, enjoyed Busch Gardens and saw dolphins as we rode on a giant speedboat. Valerie and her husband Heath and son Duncan live in Missouri so the time and expense to make the trip would have been prohibitive. Even though Bonnie and the rest of the Hogan and Lane part of my family was unable to attend each was missed.

My son Jim and his family were also unable to attend due to distance and timing. They were missed. I am looking forward to their coming to visit me the end of June. It will be a blast.

Now as for seeing my son Tom and his family that was bliss consciousness for me. I loved sharing the adventure of the weekend with them. Stay tuned for details.

I am so very blessed to have a family that is made up of diverse personalities. It was terrific to share a weekend with them. I would very much appreciate it if my readers would say a little prayer for Dianne's speedy recovery from her surgery and for Josh to have safe travels.

I wish each of you the opportunity to have a fun weekend with your family soon. Making memories is a great way to spend your time.
