Life can change in a moment
We all know that our lives can change in a moment. Sometimes it is an accident, sometimes a diagnosis, sometimes it is winning the lottery, sometimes it is an unexpected reward or recognition, sometimes it is because we fall in love and sometimes it is the consequence of other people's choices, circumstances or even their indecisions.

When life throws us a rapid change, a detour in the direction our life was heading, it can be at the very least unsettling, at the worst devastating, and at the best inspiring even miraculous. Today a dear lady is going in to have brain surgery and my prayers are with her, her husband and with their doctors. In addition, others whose lives are entwined with mine are having to deal with issues of "what to do" with family members that are not in the best of health and who are having trouble living together, co-existing. I feel unsettled this morning because I am concerned that their circumstances may soon become even more tangled into my own life and their responsibilites may fall in my direction. I don't feel competent to accept the role and feel disappointed in myself that I am apprehensive about how the decisions made by others may ultimately effect my life. I am trusting in God to give me wisdom to know what to do as the situation unfolds and the energy and knowledge to be of positive assistance when and where it is needed. In just a few days, it will be time to celebrate one of my favorite holidays, Ground Hog's Day. I love this day. It is a reminder that everything changes and the cold bleakness of winter ultimately gives way to the beauty and newness of Spring. The short days become longer. It is a wonderful day to remind us that if we remain hopeful and maybe just a little bit curious and venture a peek we will find that life, although always changing, is a fantastic adventure and one to always enjoy each "present" moment. Life can change in a moment so enjoy the heck out of the one happening right now. Here is smiling at you from sunny, chilly Florida and wishing you a most excellent day! 0 comments 0 Comments:Post a Comment |
