Detoured
I was on my way to Tarpon Springs to see the Epithany Celebration and then got sidetracked.

![]() First I went downtown St. Petersburg and had fun exploring the Saturday Market. There was music and vendors. People brought their whole families and even their dogs were allowed. It was a beautiful sunny, warm Saturday and I lingered and explored. On my way to the interstate I decided to check out Home Depot. I had nearly $12.00 left on a gift card my son Tom had given me last year. I was hoping I might get some flowers to put out by my front door. All my beautiful plants on the balcony and the front door were casualties of a cold snap and stormy weather we had in November. I found two flowering plants; they look great and welcoming as they sit on a crate by my door. By now my dawdling had eaten up most of the morning making it too late to continue to Tarpon Springs. I remembered that their was a "Bike Festival" going on in Plant City so I decided to drive out there. ![]() Oops, I guess I should have paid more attention to the article. When I arrived in downtown Plant City, I saw the banner announcing that the festivities weren't scheduled to begin until 5PM. What to do next? I could go home OR yes another detour. ![]() I remembered that my son, Jim said my grandson, Jake wanted to be at Disney World for his birthday next week. Since that isn't possible I decided that I would go to Downtown Disney and buy him some things that would give him a Disney Day long distance. Downtown Disney was still decorated for the holidays and crowded with lots of people stretching their New Year celebrations through the first week of the 2007. I had a blast. I get energized from all the chaos and seeing everyone enjoying their families. I found a couple of surprises for Jake and sent them on their way yesterday, Sunday. ![]() Driving home listening to Dallas lose their game and enjoying the moonlight, I realized once again that sometimes the detours are more fun and exciting than our original plans. It was fun to play hooky all day. It left me revitalized and renewed to continue my quest to finish my book and launch Ideas Unlimited. 0 comments 0 Comments:Post a Comment |
