I remain in remission and don't need to go back to the doctor for six months. As wonderful as this is; I was truly touched when Dr. Kirby told me that he knew first hand that my book had helped several women. Truly a day of blessings. 0 comments
Shaking in my flip flops
Going to the doctor to check, as best they can, to see if my cancer remains in remission. Doctor had said before that unless symptoms appeared it would difficult to know if the cancer returned.

It is funny to be more nervous going to these follow-up appointments than going to the treatments, I fear the worst which is not my normal way of thinking. When I went for treatments I was confident of the best. This particular visit has me more anxious because it falls on the anniversary of my appointment July 2010 when they discovered my cancer had metastisied to my shoulder. The doctor immediately made an appointment with a surgeon for me. I went from Dr. Kirby to Dr. Rodriquez who said he could squeeze me in and remove it at the office or I could wait until the following week and go to the hospital. I opted for being squeezed in to get the cancer removed as quick as possible. By October, after a few follow-up visits due to small complications after the surgery, I was once again in remission. I don't want to have that happen again. It was a scary day for sure. Now I have to figure out how to get my blood pressure down before I get to the doctor. It will be fantastic to have it in my rear-view mirror. 0 comments |
