Picks for the Stanley Cup and the NBA Championship.
Ever since, by a fluke, I picked Kansas to win the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship I have been asked who I think will win the Stanley Cup and NBA. I haven't a clue!

I asked the person who I consider to be a fantastic sports enthusist, Noah. He has predicted:  The Boston Celtics win the NBA Championship trophy and rings.  Completing an Olympic distance triathlon is a major accomplishment. Sunday thousands came to St. Pete to compete in the St. Anthony Triathlon. They swam close to a mile in the open Gulf, rode a bike 25 miles on a crowed race course,then finished with a 10K run. As formidable as that accomplishment is, some of the competitors overcame challenges that would make the triathlon seem like a walk in the park. Matt Bigos, a 24 year old from Solana Beach, Calif., was a professional motorcycle racer and mechanic. In 2003, he nearly died in a car accident. Doctors determined he had injured his spinal cord, leaving him with no feeling below his chest. Bigos was told he would never walk again. Five months later he was taking steps with crutches. He has completed 3 Ironman events. Quinn Simons, a 33 year old from Sante Fe, N.M. was attempting to climb a remote 23,000 foot peak in Tibet when a blizzard hit. Snowbound for days, he suffered severe frostbite and lost both feet and all his fingers. Last year he was inspired by an Army veteran who completed the Ironman in Hawaii. Simons has completed four triathlons. Tricia Downing, a 37 year old from Denver was a road and track cyclist until 8 years ago when a car turned in front of her while she was training and shattered her back. She was paralyzed. Downing was determined to continue cycling; she turned to a handcycle. In 2005 she became the first wheelchair racer to finish a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run in a triathlon in Oklahoma City. Ryan Levinson of Tampa was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, a progressive disease that has no cure. In 2004 he made it to the Paralympics in Athens. though he beat all the "below the knee" amputees, he didn't make the team. They ruled he wasn't disabled enough. He has completed more than 20 triathlons. He hopes to bring attention to "invisible athletes" whose disabilities are not as obvious as a missing limb. Reading about these amazing people is inspiring. If attitudes are truly contagious I hope I catch theirs. They demonstrate an awesome "can do" attitude; believing in possibilities despite the facts and odds that say otherwise. Sunday, April 27

Good advice for aspiring entrepreneur's overwhelmed with naysayers and statistics that say most small businesses fail more often than succeed. You need to follow your heart and intuition and have faith that success is within reach. I sign all my books, "Believe in possibilities" because I truly do. In all facets of your life, business and personal, I hope you "don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice" and that you always believe in possibilities.

A dear friend died yesterday.
 I just received word that Walter Dove died yesterday. His beloved wife of 37 years sent out an e-mail to let the many people whose life he touched know he had an aneurysm in the renal arteries that supply blood to the kidneys. By the time he got to the operating room, there was nothing they could do to save him. We graduated in the same high school class but never remember meeting. During the planning stages for a class reunion several years ago we met online. He shared stories about his lovely wife Joy, his children and grandchildren. He also loved to talk about his cats. He had 6 cats: Samantha, Sunshine, Little Bit, Beauregard, Mr. Twigs and Billy White Shoes. He loved animals and enjoyed feeding the birds, raccoons and opossums whenever they came around their North Carolina mountain home. Over the years I have written on my blog about people who have miraculously been Guardian Angels to me. Walt was definitely a Guardian Angel in my life. When I was struggling with concerns as my friend David Hallal was battling cancer presto out of the blue I would receive a call from Walt. He would be calling about the reunion but would sense something in my voice and say exactly the right thing to make me feel hopeful. Over time, sight unseen, we became friends. We only communicated occasionally often going months between a call or e-mail but then we would speak and I would find happiness in hearing stories about his family or how proud he was of his wife's ability to play golf. He encouraged me to write my book. He believed in me. He gave me the precious gift of liking me just the way I am. Several times I hoped to meet Walt and his lovely wife Joy when they came to Florida or when I went to Tennessee but it never happened. Time ran out. Joy said that Walt was an organ donor and they hope what he has left behind will benefit many. It was his wish to help others. If it is possible to play golf in heaven I am sure that Walt is enjoying a round with his feline friends.  I will miss him greatly. I am forever grateful for the way Walt enriched my life. He will forever be remembered in my heart as a Guardian Angel who would pop back into my life at just the right moment and say just the right thing.
What would our past presidents think?
I think it would be interesting to contact the "ghost whisperer" or that kid that had the "sixth sense." They could ask George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt, and John F. Kennedy what they think of our President appearing on "Deal or No Deal" and our Presidential Candidates appearing on "WWE's Monday Night Raw."

And my favorite words of concerning making choices comes from Maya Angelou on page 24 of her book, "Wouldn't Take Nothing For My Journey Now." The page is dog eared because I have referred to it and read it often during my life adventures: "Each of us has the right and the responsibility to assess the roads which lie ahead, and those over which we have traveled, and if the future road looms ominous or unpromising, and the roads back uninviting, then we need to gather our resolve and carrying only the necessary baggage, step off that road in another direction. If the new choice is also unpalatable, without embarrassment, we must be ready to change that as well." I love it. Make a choice and if it doesn't work out, without embarrassment change. A perfect reminder that we may not always make the right choice but that's okay. Just don't stay stubborn and stuck.  Life is a fantastic adventure. Saturday, April 19

A special Superhero named Noah.
 A "Superhero" is defined by Wikipedia as a fictional character of unprecedented physical prowess dedicated to acts of derring-do in the public interest. Most definitions also point out that superheros don't need to have actual superhuman powers to be deemed superheroes.Using this definition, it is clear that Noah McKay is a true superhero! He has extraordinary powers, abilities and relevant skills. I am always amazed every time I have the opportunity to talk with him or share time with him. He knows much about much! His talents are many. He has the unique ability to master a wide variety of things. He is brilliant, athletic and very creative. He is outgoing and has enough energy to power a whole city. He also has the ability to encourage others and teach. He is a role model to his cousins Jake and Jonah. He also has a strong belief system and sense of responsibility instilled by his amazing parents Tom and Shelia and the example of his beautiful and brilliant sister, Hope. Noah may not have a distinctive costume or hidden cave like the superheroes that appear in comic books, but he does possess the willingness to help others without expectation of a reward. That is characteristic of a true Superhero. His birthday was March 27th but we celebrate his birth everyday!!!!!! Yeah! Noah, we are glad you were born. We are very proud of the person you are. Leaving the world of cyberspace for a few days.
Tomorrow morning, Wednesday, I start my adventure of meetings, workshops and book signing. I am excited. I hope Mother Nature gives me sunshine.

College Basketball's Final Four
 The Women are playing here in Tampa and the Men are playing in San Antonio. When it comes to brackets, I had no clue who might beat whom. Among the Men's Teams I randomly picked Kansas to win it all. It is fantastic, that they are one of the final two. My fingers are crossed that they win. As for the Women, it has been exciting to have them in town. This has been a busy sports weekend here with the Women's Final Four and the Honda Grand Prix.  Add to that the Festival of States with their parades and activities and it is a busy place.  Fortunately, the stormy weather yesterday was after 8PM and today. Although it is cloudy today, it still seems like good weather for the Grand Prix. We want to showcase our piece of paradise in postcard perfect fashion. Tuesday, April 1
