Random thoughts, ideas, shared memories and happenings.

Getting to know me:
I am blessed with an over active enthusiasm gland and an appreciation of the precious gift of life.

I am trying to break lose of being a hostage "to what I should do."

Do I have the courage to step across the threshold into the exciting world of possibilities?!?

Fun facts and true quotes.
The numbers "171" can be found on the back of the U.S. $5 dollar bill in the bushes at the base of the Lincoln Memorial.

Cats sleep 16 to 18 hours per day.

"Life is rather like a tin of sardines - we're all of us looking for the key."
Alan Bennett

The most common name in the world is Mohammed.

It is believed that Shakespeare was 46 around the time that the King James Version of the Bible was written. In Psalms 46, the 46th word from the first word is shake and the 46th word from the last word is spear. (The person who has the time to discover this factoid needs to consider getting out more - smile.)

There is no such thing as a small act of kindness.
You may never know the difference you may make in someone's life by sharing a smile, a note, pictures, a story, a phone call, e-mail or stopping by to say hi.

I am writing today to assure you it does make a difference. I am a great believer in the power of random acts of kindness.

Each of us has the power to improve someone's day. That is an awesome ability.

I am the grateful recipient of wonderful cards, a newsy note, e-mails, terrific voicemail messages and even a nice visit from the lady who is in charge of maintaining the building. She said she hadn't seen me and wanted to stop by and make sure everything was going great and say thank you for the cookies I surprised her with at Easter.

It is amazing how wonderful such kindness can make you feel. I hope to pass it on as I go through my day. Great thing is that during this time of economic craziness being nice is free!

I hope you enjoy your day.

I enjoy sports. In the past I've enjoyed the NFL draft day. This year not so much.

Now that Gruden is gone and we have a new coaching staff we are curious to what the new Tampa Bay Buccaneer strategy is going to be. We have heard there is a new plan. Great veteran players including the awesome, Derrick Brooks were cut. So far there hasn't been much action and no replacements for the players we released. Months have passed and no one seems to understand our new game plan.

The NFL Draft notoriously moves at a glacial pace. The Bucs have a first round pick at 19. There have been no exciting rumblings of possibilities.

This year I will pass on the NFL Draft and leave it to others to find excitement in the process.

Don't waste time with "what if."
"Indecision and second-guessing are the mortal enemies of spontaneous brillance and inspiration. Without action, your dream, goal or plan has little meaning in the world."
Dan Zadra

"How to begin the journey? You need only take the first step. When? There is always now."
George Leonard

Time to appreciate the wonderful, amazing place we live. What are you doing to make sure that it's resources and beauty last for our children, grandchildren and future generations?

Wishing you a fantastic Friday and Wonderful weekend.

Hope you take time out of your chaotic day to notice the miracles and blessings that occur everyday. Life is truly amazing and overflows with wonders to be noticed and appreciated.

I am thrilled that I have been blessed with family and friends and people whose life adventure has crossed mine and a smile has been exchanged and time shared.

The most precious gifts we exchange are truly priceless and cost absolutely no money.

Wishing you a day of noticing and enjoying your day to overflowing.

To those I love who have basketball and/or baseball on their weekend agenda I wish homeruns and baskets. Good Luck. I am rooting for you.

It was a memory trigger.
Yesterday as I was driving home from running erands and doing "have tos," I passed a high school. Students were practicing for an upcoming track and field event. It reminded me of the Blue Devil Relays held in Erwin, Tennessee.

I remember those times fondly. I was given the responsibility of being a coach, great fun. I got to work with Coach Charlie Bryant and great kids. I loved the experience.

It is terrific when something happens, you hear a song, you see something or someone says something that triggers a happy memory.

Do you find your days becoming more hectic? Is there more chaos?
With the advent of Spring there is also an increase in things to do and things to get done. Gardens are ready to be tended. Grass needs mowing. Children are now involved in little league, soccer and other extra curricula events. Parents become taxi drivers and homelife becomes a juggling act.

If this describes your household. Consider purchasing a CD that will relax you. Even if you don't know how to do yoga, this CD will guide you through poses. It doesn't matter if you do them exactly - there is no right or wrong. Take time for yourself and breathe.

Here is a excerpt from the CD. Enjoy and let the pictures inspire you to daydream.
