Getting to know me:
I am blessed with an over active enthusiasm gland and an appreciation of the precious gift of life.

I am trying to break lose of being a hostage "to what I should do."

Do I have the courage to step across the threshold into the exciting world of possibilities?!?

Scientific Evidence - Proves what I have believed for years

Hugs keep you healthy. We all need a hug once in a while, but a new study from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill says that it may make you healthier.

A brief embrace or a few minutes of hand-holding may reduce the output of stress hormone cortisol, which can have harmful effects on mental and physical health, according to the Touch Research Institute at the University of Miami.

Improve your health - take a moment and share a hug today.

Change

Change is perpetual. It is inevitable. If it weren't for change we would have no seasons, no Grand Canyon, and no butterflies. Life without change would be robotic.

Some changes stimulate fear and grief. The sudden storms currently ravishing the Midwest and parts of the South are creating devastating change. The downturns in the stock market have changed the retirement plans of many. The growing unemployment numbers have thrown many people and their families into a state of uncertainty.

Some changes bring great happiness and joy. The birth of a healthy new baby can forever change a family. Moving into a new home can be a dream come true. Taking a fantastic family vacation can revitalize and renew a family's connection to each other and their spirits.

joshI discovered an old roll of film and found this photo from November, 1987. It is an excellent example of change. It is a reminder that things don't stay the same and that you need to appreciate each moment of life. Gratitude for the present moment is true prosperity. We come with elaborate and sophisticated rationales to justify our actions and end up spending most of our time and energy doing things aren't all that important.

The Twin Towers are no longer here and the lives that were lost on that fatal September 11th have forever changed not only all the lives of their family and friends but all of us. Out of that change has hopefully come a new appreciation of our true heros, the police and fireman and emergency response crews.

Hopefully, from that tragic change we have all learned to embrace the fragility of life. That we live each day as if it were our last on earth, not to be reckless or to abandon your responsibilities but to remember how precious life really is. Life is too important to take it too seriously.

My nephew, Josh, standing with a souvenir Statue of Liberty flame in his hand, has grown into a fantastic man, a college student. Without realizing it, his life has been an inspiration to many including his family and friends. He has experienced many changes throughout his young life and overcome hurdles placed in front of him.

Embrace change. Live your life in the moment. Scatter joy.
